Year 11 & 12 Maths

I specialise in Maths Standard, Advanced and Extension 1 for both Year 11 and Year 12, so if you're studying up to Extension 1, I'll be able help you excel in maths throughout senior school

How lessons work

Succeeding in Preliminary and HSC Maths requires practice, practice and more practice, regardless of which level you're studying. Once I've helped you understand each theory in each topic, and after you've mastered difficult versions of the questions you're taught in school, I'll set and enforce the amount of practice you do every week. Sometimes, having that extra bit of accountability is what will keep you on track.

Once we're done covering the theory and practice, we'll turn our attention to exam practice. Using a big resource database of practice papers and topic papers, I'll set timed exam papers for you to do in-class and provide a mark with detailed feedback about how to improve. We'll focus on common problem areas like time management, how to handle stress, and how to avoid making careless mistakes.

Feedback outside of lessons

I am always happy to help students between lessons, either by marking your work or answering questions, depending on my availability. If I feel the questions are too complicated for a quick response, I will recommend booking an extra lesson.

Topics covered

Results

I will follow the order in which your school covers topics to make sure we're prepared for individual assessments, and we'll prep ahead for future topics as well. In Standard, I'll cover all topics including algebra, financial maths, statistics, measurement and networks. In Advanced, we'll do calculus, functions, trigonometry, calculus and statistics. In Extension 1, we'll cover proofs, advanced trig, functions, algebra including binomial theorem, mechanics and combinatorics.

Pricing & lesson types

I recommend a one-to-one 1.5 hour lesson for students in Year 7-10 per week, but I also offer group lessons and 1 hour spots if you prefer. I only charge week-to-week and we can start lessons on a no-obligation basis to make sure you're happy with how everything is going before continuing. Contact me now to get a free consultation and to discuss fees, which start as low as $55 per hour but can vary depending on lesson type and availability. Spots are limited, so please reach out to see if I can fit you in.
