Group Lessons

Two Students Studying
Online Group Lesson

Offered both online and in-person, group lessons are an affordable option where I divide my time between two to three students, providing guidance and feedback on rotation

Affordable & Effective

While I strongly recommend one-to-one lessons, I have a few spots reserved for group sessions for younger students, often in Year 7 or 8, as well as anyone who is on a budget. There are two to three students in a group and I rotate my attention from student to student. This means that some students might have to wait a short while to ask questions if I'm occupied with another student.

I find that I'm still able to answer all my students' questions in the lesson, provide an adequate amount of feedback and prepare well for assessments, though not as thoroughly as in one-to-one lessons. Younger students who begin in group sessions often upgrade to one-to-one when they begin senior school and really feel the difference.

The majority of my students in group lessons prefer online, but in-person spots are also available.

Lesson Length

1.5 Hour Lesson

Group 1.5 hour lessons allow a comfortable amount of time to effectively rotate between students. It gives the student more time to practice their skills in a guided environment, allowing me to provide detailed feedback which will, in turn, reduce the amount of work each student will have to do alone throughout the week before our next lesson.

1 Hour Lesson

Group 1 hour lessons are also available and will allow me to answer my students' questions and cover some of the content. I will be able to provide some feedback on work done in class.

I strongly recommend 1.5 hours, as 1 hour lessons will not allow for as much feedback on set tasks, meaning the student will have to handle more of the work themselves throughout the week. However, 1 hour lessons are still an effective option, especially for students in younger years.

Pricing & Lesson Types

Fees for group lessons start from as low as $50 per hour but vary depending on whether you're looking for English or maths tutoring, what year the student is in, whether you'd prefer online or in-person, 1.5 hours or 1 hour, as well as my availability. Please contact me for a free consultation to discuss fees and what type of lesson you'd prefer. I'm happy to talk for as long you need so that you're confident in what I can offer before we begin.

In-Person

For in-person group lessons, you’ll get a choice between the armchair and the work table, and you’ll be sharing the space with me and one or two other students (and my two cats, Ivy and Eden)
