Does this sound familiar?
If you're trying to wrap your head around the Texts and Human experiences rubric (Individual vs collective? Inconsistency vs anomaly?) or wondering how to choose a related text for Term 4, improve speed with short answers, incorporate context in Mod A, how specific the questions can be in Mod B, what is needed for a good reflection statement in Mod C, and how on Earth you're supposed to write three back-to-back essays for Paper 2: firstly, you're not alone! Secondly, I'm here to answer all your questions and guide you to the best possible mark you can achieve.
How lessons work
First I’ll help you understand the content of each individual module and answer any questions you have. Then I’ll guide you on the best essay structure for each topic, both for the individual term assessment and for Trials/HSC, and provide detailed feedback until each essay is perfect and polished. This includes guidance on writing the best creative, discursive and persuasive pieces, as well as reflection statements. I'll also help you compile exam notes for each module. I have a large collection of exemplar essays and notes from past students who achieved high Band 6 marks for every module and almost every text, and this will help you perfect your essays and notes.
After that, I’ll set lots of practice questions, both timed and untimed, typed and handwritten, until you’re confident enough to answer any essay question under timed exam conditions.
Feedback outside of lessons
I am always happy to help students between lessons, either by marking your work or answering questions, depending on my availability. If I feel the questions are too complicated for a quick response, I will recommend booking an extra lesson.

Pricing & lesson types
I recommend a one-to-one 1.5 hour lesson for Advanced & Standard English per week, but I also offer group lessons and 1 hour spots if you prefer. I only charge week-to-week and we can start lessons on a no-obligation basis to make sure you're happy with how everything is going before continuing. Contact me now to get a free consultation and to discuss fees, which start as low as $55 per hour but can vary depending on lesson type and availability. Spots are limited, so please reach out to see if I can fit you in.
How lessons work
I'm happy to help you with just Extension 1, or both Advanced and Extension 1 together. Extension 1 can be a very demanding subject, with a strong emphasis placed on original and in-depth responses to texts. I can teach you how to delve deep into literary concepts and philosophical ideas in a way that will impress your markers.
We'll start by understanding the concept of Literary Worlds and how to obtain top marks when responding to unseen texts (which can be very complex in Ext 1), and how to write creatively and discursively according to the subject's criteria. Then we'll cover all the content in your prescribed texts under the elective you're studying and write up perfect, polished essays for your individual assessments before turning our attention to Trials and HSC exam skills.
As with Advanced above, I will set a lot of practice questions to prepare for exams, both timed and untimed, typed and handwritten, until you're fully prepared to answer any essay question under exam conditions.

How lessons work
If you're studying Extension 2, it means you love the idea of being dedicated to one project over the course of the whole year. I'm the same! Extension 2 is a personal favourite subject of mine - one of the best parts of my job is helping students come up with and develop their creative ideas. I would love to help you with your project, whether on its own, or in addition to Advanced and/or Extension 1.
If you're not sure what to do, we'll start by brainstorming ideas you're passionate about and pick one that you love. Then I'll help you plan out the whole thing, lay out a schedule for when all the parts need to be finished, and of course guide you as you write and help you polish the final product. For individual assessments like literature reviews and the viva voce, I'll make sure you're fully prepared.
